The BioChain Joins Leuven MindGate

The BioChain has joined Leuven MindGate, the non-profit collaboration platform that strengthens and promotes the Leuven Innovation Region — the same regional ecosystem our Ghent office already operates within.

Leuven MindGate connects more than 444 member organisations, from startups and scaleups through to established companies and knowledge institutes, across the domains that define the region — including Health & Life Sciences and Deep Tech & Advanced Engineering. Its role is to build a regional vision, initiate B2B projects and spark strategic match-making between the region’s innovators, and to attract the capital, talent and business opportunities its members need to grow.

Why this matters for The BioChain

Our European R&D presence in Ghent already sits inside the wider Flanders innovation ecosystem, alongside VLAIO’s support for our work. Joining Leuven MindGate connects us more directly to the region’s life-sciences and deep-tech community — the researchers, hospitals, biotech companies and engineering specialists working on exactly the kind of complex, regulated problems that trusted data infrastructure is built for.

It’s a natural complement to our UK base in Oxford: two innovation regions, one operation, and a growing set of relationships across both that we expect to matter as Private BioChain deployments and our research partnerships develop. Membership doesn’t change what we’ve built — it changes who we’re standing next to while we build it.

Questions & Answers

What is Leuven MindGate?

Leuven MindGate is a non-profit collaboration platform connecting more than 444 organisations — startups, scaleups, established companies and knowledge institutes — across the Leuven Innovation Region, with a focus on Health & Life Sciences and Deep Tech & Advanced Engineering.

Why did The BioChain join?

Our European R&D office in Ghent already sits inside the wider Flanders innovation ecosystem. Leuven MindGate connects us more directly to the region’s life-sciences and deep-tech community — the researchers, hospitals and specialists working on the kind of complex, regulated problems our infrastructure is built for.

Does this relate to the Ghent office?

Yes. Leuven MindGate membership follows directly from opening our European R&D office in Ghent, and connects that office into the wider regional ecosystem alongside VLAIO’s support.

Does membership change what The BioChain has built?

No. This is a relationship and ecosystem announcement, not a product or deployment claim. It broadens who we’re connected to regionally; it doesn’t change the state of the technology.

If your organisation generates, manages, analyses or governs biological evidence and would be interested in participating in a UK or European provenance demonstrator, The BioChain would welcome the conversation.
